About One Hope

In one American neighborhood...

The average life expectancy of an individual is 65; 14 years below the U.S. average and 19 years below the city’s wealthiest neighborhoods

  • 93.5% of children less than 18 year olds live in single family homes.
  • 85% of children in come from low-income families, only half will graduate high school.
  • 60% of adults are unemployed.
  • The median income is a mere $15,950.

...and this is similar to inner-city neighborhoods around the nation.

The greatest poverty we face, however, is not the poverty food or cash, but a poverty of the Word. We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the one hope that can fully address the problem and change communities. We believe that building heathy, Gospel-centered churches in the nations poorest communities is the best strategy of promoting and creating real change.

LIFE COACHING

Life Coaching seeks to train adults and students for work, and is the first step in the ONE HOPE mission. This includes individual mentorship, connection to a job network, counseling, and life skills training.

CAMPUS MINISTRY

Campus Ministry is held at our local college and seeks to raise up and develop Christian leaders. The campus ministry partners with Life Coaching and provides a holistic discipleship experience for local college students.

ONE HOPE INTERNSHIPS

Internships are offered as people from the community make a profession of faith and join the local church. This is a concentrated experience in which new believers are trained and developed in the Christian faith.  A second year of advanced discipleship is offered for future indigenous ministry leaders, church planters, elders, and deacons.
