Jaime Lopez Testimony on Christ's Faithfulness

At the ONE HOPE Conference ‘22 in October of 2022, Jaime Lopez gave a testimony of how he came to faith in Jesus Christ. A few months later, his faith was put to the test.

On their way home from Christmas shopping that December, his wife and two daughters were hit in a head on collision by a drunk driver. First responders didn’t believe any would make it. All were airlifted to nearby hospitals as the three fought for their lives. Through it all, Jaime never lost faith. And as his family healed, their own testimonies of grace were heard. Joel and Jess visited their youngest, Nicole, on Christmas Day in 2022, just a few weeks after she almost lost her life. Watch this video of her singing of God’s goodness.

Below is Jaime’s second testimony at our most recent ONE HOPE Conference ‘24, in which he shared once again of God’s faithfulness.

Testimony from ONE HOPE Conference ‘24 on March 2, 2024.

Date of the incident December 17, 2022, 8:20 pm.

I was waiting for my family with dinner that night and they did not make it home, because a drunk driver was doing 84 mph and it cross the yellow line, head on collision into my wife vehicle, and the vehicle following behind could not stop and hit my wife vehicle in the rear.

I didn’t know it was them, I heard about the accident and I went out to check on my wife, thinking that they my be stuck in traffic, when I got there a mile away from home, I started to talk to the police and he told me that bad news thinking that someone had told me this, he say I am sorry because they though that no ones was going to survive, I started to pray and my prayer was, Lord please keep them alive, it doesn't matter how they are, please have mercy of them, from there I was between hospitals, tons of surgeries, not even time to cry or to think, the only thing I could do was to trust the Lord, knowing that he is in control and specially that less than a week I have graduate from the Seminary, and God had called me to plant a Church in Temple Hills MD.

God gave me a family, and God could take my family, praise the name of the Lord!

Knowing who God is kept me going, day by day, and I seen the hand of God, healing one day at the time, something impossible for the man, is possible for God, the first time I got home I saw this text that my wife wrote in a white board before she left the house for Christmas shopping, I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me, Philippians 4:13.

I knew God was in control, that he still do miracles today and even when sometimes you don’t get your miracle, he still doing the most important, saving the people from going to hell, and I had peace in my heart, because every opportunity I had I share the Gospel with my family, and God was sufficient to heel, to provide strength, to provide what we need, to provide help, to make our faith stronger, to so much more, and here we are today, still faithful, trusting the Lord and understanding, that no matter what are you going through, is only temporary, everything here is temporary, but he has promise something better, something eternal, he has promise to be our Savior and our Lord forever, and that more than sufficient for us.

Praise the name of the Lord
