Church Planting in Baltimore

New Life Springs from the Concrete

From the concrete, a flower can grow.  The roots of new life grow deep in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, infused with his grace and goodness.  From these Gospel roots, a flower sprouts in unexpected places, even places like the concrete of Baltimore City. Inner-city neighborhoods are looked upon as a place out of which nothing good can come. Gospel work penetrates the hearts and minds of God’s regenerate people and blossoms. From the concrete, a flower grows. Gospel-change is truly a miraculous work; life where there was only death and decay. As we seek to plant a healthy Gospel church in Baltimore, consider coming along side us, feed and water new plants, and help us cultivate something only God can grow.

Our Vision

We believe that the Great Commission calls us to reach all people, even those in neglected, inner-city neighborhoods.  We desire to impact the inner-city by taking the Gospel to where it is most neglected for the glory of God through his son, Jesus Christ.

Our Concern

It is so easy to write off Baltimore City due to the poverty, violence, and crime that the city is so well known for, but we believe that the greatest tragedy that the city faces is the absence of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

Our mission is to plant a Gospel-centered church by engaging in the community, evangelizing our neighbors, establishing a healthy church, and equipping the saints, while we treasure Christ together.

Our Solution

The solution to this crisis is to embed ourselves in the community in order to earn trust as we proclaim the Gospel message.  Jesus did not commute among us,  He dwelt among us.  We want to dwell among our neighbors in Baltimore City, planting a neighborhood church in which we and other church members live among and reach people in the community

Our Strategy

Phase 1:  Residency at The Garden Church: developing a healthy church planting core team, creating a culture of evangelism and discipleship, connecting with other pastors in the city, and fundraising for the church plant. During this time, we will commit to a particular Baltimore neighborhood as home-base for a church plant.

Phase 2:  Continue to build and equip a strong core team to disciple and evangelize in the inner-city of Baltimore, faithfully caring for core team members, and continuing fundraising.

Phase 3:  Plant and covenant together with people from the community and core team.

We desire to lock arms with other healthy churches and individuals to do faithful, sustainable ministry for the long haul in Baltimore City. We do not wish to do this alone; we need a well-equipped team to plant a church that would thrive in the inner city.  We aspire to build a well-rounded core team with elders, deacons, and faithful church members engaging in Gospel ministry.
